John joined Ilika in 2018 with a brief to develop the commercial activities for both thin-film (mm-scale) and printed format solid state batteries. Johns career has spanned 30 years in UK companies often, guiding them through their early stages. A Physicist from Birmingham University, focus sectors have included measurement instrumentation, optical components, telecoms equipment, fibre lasers and semiconductor design. Initial activities at Ilika have focussed on around creating industrial collaborations and identifying lead partners.
