Dr Rowena Brugge is the R&D Manager at Nyobolt, leading a team of scientists developing next-generation materials and furthering Nyobolt’s understanding of the fundamentals of new battery technology, since 2023. With a background in chemistry, Rowena oversees the Materials R&D activities and collaborates with cell engineering, powder production, and applications engineering teams in the company. Rowena joined Nyobolt as a Scientist in 2021, after completing a PhD at Imperial College London, followed by postdoctoral research there and at the University of Cambridge on various Li-ion battery technologies.

Nyobolt  is a Cambridge-based technology battery innovator company. It specialises in making fast-charge batteries. The company is vertically integrated from battery cells, modules to packs. With the anode as its core technology, Nyobolt has proved that fast charging is possible.  The company has two basic anode technologies: a) a patented niobium-based “Xtreme” for <5 minute charging and lowest TCO and b) graphite-based “Ultra” for >5minute charging with higher energy density and lower up front cost. Nyobolt has global operations in the UK, USA, Asia and Germany.
