Darren Haines BSc(Hons), MIET

Darren Haines is a Master’s Via research student within the SESS research group at the University of South Wales, working at the forefront of medical battery innovation. With undergraduate degrees in Biology and Electrical Engineering and as a published author in Future Batteries, he brings a strong interdisciplinary perspective to healthcare energy challenges. Darren’s current research focuses on advancing next-generation power solutions for wearable and implantable biomedical devices, exploring improvements in miniaturization, flexibility, and biocompatibility. His work aims to develop innovative battery technologies that enhance patient outcomes and help shape the future of modern healthcare.
