Exhibitor Interview: MG Chemicals Ltd

What Battery Technology do you specialise in?
We provide high tech materials for Battery packs that enhance their overall performance. Our main technologies for batteries include potting and encapsulation, specialty adhesives, thermal interface materials, conductive and insulation coatings.

Please explain the benefits of your specialty.
Although the utility of electric vehicles (EVs) has made substantial progress in the last ten years, much work remains toward improving their yield and lowering cost. The nucleus of this challenge is the battery system, where designers must try and balance competing constraints such as cost, power output and weight to optimize vehicle performance. The most promising path towards resolving both the technical and economic constraints is improving the battery pack; however, every design iteration must consider potential penalties to thermal management, electromagnetic and radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI) susceptibility, and environmental/physical exposure. MG Chemicals expansive portfolio of high performing
materials cover common challenges encountered with battery pack systems.

Are there any exciting developments that is happening within the industry or your company that you can share with us?
MG has recently introduced few high performance TIMs materials including one component, fully-cured, dispensable thermal gels as well as high thermally conductive thermal pastes. These materials render a thermal conductivity range of of 3 W/m.K to 6 W/m.K.

If attendees should know one thing about your company, what would it be?
Offering a wide range of high performing materials, MG Chemicals is one stop shop for any material solution for battery pack design and manufacturing.
