As battery technologies evolve and scale, materials engineering is becoming a defining factor in performance, cost, and manufacturability. This session explores how advances in materials and electrode design are shaping the next generation of battery systems, with a particular focus on the role of electrode optimisation in delivering competitive advantage.
The presentation will examine how material selection, synthesis methods, and electrode architecture directly influence energy density, power capability, and cycle life. It will highlight the critical link between materials and manufacturing processes, demonstrating how thoughtful design at the material level can significantly reduce development timelines and enable more efficient scale-up.
Drawing on real-world industry examples and case studies from CPI’s AMBIC centre, the session will provide practical insight into strategies for improving electrode production.
